The World's Last Single-Use Plastic Straw Abuser

With enough global momentum (and in some cases public shaming), single-use plastic straw use is finally on the decline. 
 
While this is a promising move in the right direction to help clean-up the earth of unneeded plastic, naysayers will be quick to point out that plastic straws are just a minor, minor player in the overall and overwhelming amount of destructive garbage in the world.
 
But, we'd like to believe it’s about momentum: once we start to see positive moves, others will soon follow.
 
However, is there one segment of the population that isn’t jumping on board and joining hands with the beneficial move of reducing single-use plastic? 
 
Shockingly, yes.
 
Animistic beliefs are about connecting spiritual energy to places, objects, and creatures; that all things – animals, earth, rocks, rivers, are all alive with energy and spirit. 
 
Thus, it makes no logical sense that one of the few non-participating subjects in helping the world be a better, cleaner, less polluted place on earth would be the Mighty Thai Spirits. (Or, perhaps the individuals that offer these spirits plastic straws to drink from in the first place.)
 
This, of course, begs another question entirely – do the Thai spirits even need straws? If “no,” while the rest of us are now drinking straight from the glass, using soggy paper straws, experimenting with stainless steel straws or playing around with bamboo ones, why are the earth and energy connected Mighty Thai Spirits not doing the same? ​
